Well I got a bit friendly with the tarmac today! Was on the way to a local shop to get some new pants with armour hips and knees, I pulled out to overtake a car (I was doing 50mph ish accelerated upto 60ish) and and saw one coming in the opposite direction. Decided to pull back in as there wasn't going to be enough distance - closed throttle, used front brake and turned back in and down it went!!! Between being upright and rolling along the tarmac must have been about 0.001 of a second!

My (ahem) general purpose waterproofs went straight through and then through my jeans and then some skin. Had been debating between £109 Halvassason pants with hip and knee armour and kevlar lined jeans about £80 I was on the way to buy the Halvarssons!
When I got up I had them on back to front! This is the front which where pulled round to the side.
My £160 brand new Hein Gericke jacket bought it on the forearm,
and armoured elbow. So lucky I didn't sustain too many injuries. sore hips and left knee. Not a mark on my helmet thank god!
Now the bike! Well that stopped further down the road than me and luckilly just seems to have slid along. Broke n/s grab bar.

sanded the paintwork a bit and lost the indicator.
try getting a curved lever like that! bar end got a bit ground off and a bit blue with heat.
Exhaust mount broke on n/s

Thankfully it was still rideable and LOUD. the o/s can had seperated at the joint with the down pipe. Frightened the crap out of some nearby horses.
